When I was living in Atlanta I used to visit my mother on weekends in the northern suburb of Suwanee, GA. It was a densely wooded area, but it was also right on the front lines of urban sprawl, and I could see it changing rapidly with each visit. With this in mind, I decided to document the disappearing forest behind my mother’s house with motion sensor cameras. Most of the companies making these cameras had just gone digital, but I called one of them and was able to get three of the last 35mm film cameras they had. These are some of the photographs I made with these cameras during a three-year span beginning in 2008.
